Present continuous (present progressive)

O presente contínuo é am/is/are + verbo-ing e mostra uma ação acontecendo agora ou num período temporário. É o nosso "estou trabalhando". Ele usa o verbo to be que você já conhece, sem do/does.
Regras

- Estrutura: sujeito + am/is/are + verbo-ing. I am working. She is working. They are working.
- Contrações (normais na fala e no chat): I'm, you're, he's, she's, it's, we're, they're.
- Negativa: am not / isn't / aren't + verbo-ing. I'm not working. Amn't não existe.
- Pergunta: Am/Is/Are + sujeito + verbo-ing? Are you working?
- Respostas curtas usam só o to be: Yes, I am. / No, I'm not. Yes, she is. / No, she isn't. Na afirmativa, sem contração (Yes, I'm está errado).
- Wh-questions: palavra de pergunta + am/is/are + sujeito + verbo-ing? What are you doing? Where is she working? Who are you talking to?
- Uso 1: agora, neste momento: now, right now, at the moment.
- Uso 2: período temporário em torno de agora: today, this week, this month, these days.
- Uso 3: mudança em andamento: The dollar is going up. Prices are changing.
- Não use do/does no presente contínuo: Are you working? (e não Do you working?).

Erros comuns
- Errado:
I working now.Certo: I'm working now.O verbo to be é obrigatório. O -ing sozinho não forma o tempo verbal. - Errado:
She is work today.Certo: She is working today.Para formar o presente contínuo, use am/is/are + verbo com -ing: She is working today. - Errado:
Do you working from home?Certo: Are you working from home?O presente contínuo faz pergunta invertendo o to be, sem do/does. - Errado:
Is raining.Certo: It's raining.Para o tempo (clima), o sujeito é it, como em It's late: "Está chovendo" = It's raining.
