Superlative adjectives (the -est, the most)

O superlativo aponta o extremo de um grupo: the cheapest (o mais barato), the most important (o mais importante), the best (o melhor). Antes de um substantivo, use the ou um possessivo.
Regras
Selecione um trecho para grifar ou adicionar uma nota ao seu caderno.
- Adjetivo curto: the + adjetivo + est. the cheapest, the fastest, the highest.
- Terminado em e: + st. the largest, the safest, the latest.
- Consoante + vogal + consoante: dobra. the biggest, the hottest.
- Consoante + y: iest. the easiest, the busiest, the earliest.
- Adjetivos longos usam the most: the most expensive, the most important. Com duas sílabas, siga o padrão do comparativo já estudado: simple pode formar the simplest, enquanto modern forma the most modern.
- Irregulares: good → the best, bad → the worst, far → the farthest.
- O menos: the least + adjetivo. the least expensive.
- in + lugar ou grupo: the best in the company, the biggest in Brazil.
- of + período ou número: the busiest day of the week, the cheapest of the three options.
- one of the + superlativo + substantivo no plural: one of our biggest clients.
- Antes de um substantivo, use the ou um possessivo: the best client, our best client. Sem substantivo depois, the pode ser omitido: This option is best. (Esta opção é a melhor.)

one of our biggest clientCerto: one of our biggest clientsDepois de one of the..., o substantivo vai para o plural.
